As the wind blew, the young tom watched over the moor as all the prey ran everywhere. Where he sat was a good place for him to think over the days events without all the trouble of the clan. As he watched, every now and then there was a cat or two that went by without even noticing him.
Sighing, Pillarstar got up and headed for the border with Thunderclan to help clear his mind. Maybe going to the border and checking the scent markings will help a little, he thought, getting closer to the border. As the wind blew, he got to the border and started marking every other tree, glad that there was no patrol.

Emeraldpaw came up behind who he recognized as Pillarstar. He wondered what their leader was doing out by himself. His tail twitched as he had a second though, just to leave, Pillarstar probably didn't wanna be barthered. He took a step towards the right, turning around, but then he rememberd he had to ask Pillarstar something. He had been wondering this for a long time... He turned back around and padded over to Pillarstar. He cleared his throat softly and meowed politly, "Hello Pillarstar." He smiled and dipped his head to the tom. |

Turning around at the sound of the apprentices voice, Pillarstar sat down where he was. Tilting his head to the side he thought about what the apprentice needed. "Hello Emeraldpaw. Do you need anything?" asked the tom. As he sat there his thoughts went back to what he was thinking earlier knowing that he would have to snap out of it at some point. But he did know that his clan would need his help and knew he would be a little hard to figure out with.

Emeraldpaw sat down as well and answered, "Actually I want to ask you something...." He wondered what Pilarstar would say....would he think that he wasn't loyal to his clan? Hmm, only one way to find out.... He took a breath and then asked right out, "How do cats communicate with Starclan?" He stared at Pillarstar with uneasy eyes. "I mean...I know through dreams and the moonstone...but, actually how can Starclan do it exactly? Is it real?" He blinked and shuffled his paws, feeling nervous. |

Looking at the apprentice, Pillarstar thought about it a moment. He also wondered sometimes how they did it. "To be honest the only answer I can give you is that I'm not sure," meowed the tom. As he thought about it some more something else also came to mind. "The only way I know is that they come into your dreams and talk to you like that. Besides that I'm not really sure." As he watched the apprentice he hoped that this would help a little with his question.

Emeraldpaw had a feeling that Pillarstar wouldn't know...Everyone else he asked didn't know either! He let out a short sigh and meowed, "Oh, okay, it's alright. I was just wondering..." His tail thumped the ground and he then smiled, "Thanks anyway Pillarstar." He waited to see if his leader had anything to ask or tell him to do before he left. |

A thought haad then come to him and Pillarsta looked at the apprentice again. "Would you like to help me with the rest of this border? I think it would help me a bit," meowed Pillarstar. Smiling at the apprentice he hoped that the apprentice will do it.

Pillarstar smiled and headed off in the direction he was going. As he went he noticed that there was also a strong scent of Thunderclan, though there might be a recent patrol from that side. Looking over in the direction of the forest, he was glad that he actually didn't live in there himself.

Emeraldpaw followed after Pillarstar and looked across the border curiously. He wondered what it was like to hunt in a forest...well, amoungst trees and all. Here it was all open....It seemed to exposed... His ears flickered as he saw a bird sore over their heads to Thunderclan territory.
Sometimes he wished he could be like that. Just go on over to another cats territory with no worries , just go... He sighed and scratched the earth with his claws, trying to think about something else. He was a Windclan cat, and that's what he was gonna stay! |

Looking behind him, Pillarstar watched the apprentice gaze into the forest of Thunderclan. He himself remembered what it was like to be curious about things around the clans and Starclan also. He had always thought that it was because of being a caring cat to be chosen about specific need to be leader. Looking ahead of him he stopped at another tree and rubbed his pelt against it and headed off again.

Emeraldpaw followed after Pillarstar, and rubbed up against a tree as he had done. His eyes crossed over towards a log over in Thunderclan territory and then went back to the trail they were going. He watched Pillarstar for a moment. |

Looking back at the apprentice, Pillarstar smiled. "What would you do if a Thunderclan patrol was right there and there were more than use," meowed Pillarstar. Looking back in front of himself, he waited for the answer from the apprentice. Still marking the border line he waited knew that the apprentice will answer it.
